Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra invites one and all to Lighthouse, Poole on Saturday 13 July for a relaxed afternoon of world-class music. The BSO’s Relaxed Concert recreates the atmosphere of an outdoor classical spectacular as audience members enjoy the Orchestra perform from the comfort of their own chairs, blankets, cushions or beanbags!
The BSO’s Relaxed Concert allows audience members of all ages to enjoy a symphony orchestra concert in a more relaxed atmosphere. The performance is open to all audiences, and the environment is specifically adapted for concertgoers with autistic spectrum conditions, those with sensory, communication or learning difficulties and anyone else who would benefit from a less formal environment.
The BSO Relaxed Concert will be conducted by Marta Gardolińska, the BSO’s Leverhulme Young Conductor in Association. Marta has been wowing audiences since she joined the Orchestra in September 2018, with Classical Source describing her as “highly promising and exciting conductor”.
With a relaxed attitude to noise, freedom to leave and re-enter the auditorium at any point and a Chill Out area for anyone needing a bit of quiet time before or during the performance, the BSO’s Relaxed Concert allows everyone the opportunity to enjoy a world-class orchestra performing.
