In 2024-26, Trusts have supported a wide range of work such as the following:
- The BSO’s Calleva Assistant Conductor programme – creating a career springboard for an extraordinary young artist
- Exciting programmes led by our artistic team, bringing new artists and repertoire to the stage
- Our Young Associates training programme for the next generation of music leaders
- Workshops, assemblies and Schools’ Concerts for pupils aged 5-11 – ensuring that young learners across the South West have access to interactive, high-quality music education and the thrill of a live concert
- The BSO’s programme of work with talented young disabled and non-disabled musicians through the National Open Youth Orchestra and at Special Educational Need and Disability Schools
- Our pioneering ‘Symphony from Scratch’ amateur orchestra, co-designed with young disabled musicians to be welcoming and inclusive for all abilities
- A major three-year residency in Boscombe
- Creative-health initiatives, including music-making on the wards of Dorset County Hospital, dementia-friendly Cake Concerts, and our Music in Mind programme in Cornwall.
