In the past year, Trusts have supported a wide range of work such as the following:

    • The BSO’s Calleva Assistant Conductor programme – creating a career springboard for an extraordinary young artist
    • Falling by Kate Whitley, a commission written collaboratively with disabled musicians, scored for standard orchestral and cutting-edge adapted instruments
    • Ensemble concerts that take music and company into isolated rural settings through our BSO On Your Doorstep series
    • BSO Digital, our trailblazing series of livestreamed orchestral concerts and digital resources for schools
    • The BSO’s programme of work with talented young disabled and non-disabled musicians through the National Open Youth Orchestra and at Special Educational Need and Disability Schools
    • Community orchestras, including a ‘Symphony from Scratch’ pilot co-designed with young disabled musicians
    • Our programme of workshops and Schools’ Concerts for pupils aged 5-11 – ensuring that young learners across the South West have access to interactive, high-quality music education and the thrill of a live concert
