Enhancing music education by opening up life changing possibilities to children and young people through inspiring performances and music making programmes.
Through workshops, assemblies, large-scale symphonic concerts, side-by-side instrumental days, open rehearsals and work experience opportunities, we collaborate with music hubs, primary, secondary and SEND schools, and education partners across our region to create meaningful opportunities for young people to get involved.
This includes:
- KS2 Explore the Orchestra is our free annual symphonic school concert taking place in Poole, Exeter, Bristol, Portsmouth and online. Designed for KS2 pupils, SEND schools and home educators.
- KS1 Concert in Somerset is a great opportunity for primary schools to introduce their students to live orchestral music.
- KS4 Concerts are tailored for students studying GCSE or BTEC Music across the Southwest, bring to life the curriculum through performance, analysis, live composition and student performer opportunities.
- SEND Schools Concerts bring the ensemble directly to your school, creating an engaging and accessible musical experience in a familiar environment.
- Work Experience offers a unique opportunity to gain behind-the-scenes insight and experience in a professional orchestra.
- Wraparound concert activity such as, meet and greets and pre-concert workshops provide additional opportunities for students to engage with professional musicians and deepen their understanding of the music industry.
