Singing in a choir is a brilliant way to meet new people and it has been proven to instill a sense of happiness and increase wellbeing.
At the moment with social distancing still making things complicated, we are going to celebrate the summer with a proper get together and day of practise and performance with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, which is what we love best about BSO Voices. The repertoire includes reprising some of the fantastic virtual performances over the past year, including Over The Rainbow, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Shoulder To Shoulder, My Fair Lady and Put On Your Sunday Clothes.
When the world returns to normal and we are once again able to rehearse and perform together, choir performs at least three times a year under the direction of conductor, Pete Harrison with the full Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. There are no auditions to join and the ability to read music is not essential.
Choir members enjoy being part of the BSO family, sharing experiences in rehearsal and on the concert platform, with social events alongside plenty of tea, biscuits and fun.
- Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7.15-9.30pm at Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, Hill Lane, Southampton, SO15 5RL
- Please ensure that you can attend the rehearsals (you may miss up to 3 rehearsals by prior agreement) and that you are able to perform in the final concert
- Music and rehearsal CDs will be given out at the first rehearsal or will be available for download from the BSO website BSO Voices Resources page at the start of term
What a brilliant day and to add to the collection of such wonderful memories that will last for ever - thank you. Can't wait for the next one.
