On Sunday 29 May our musicians travel to Westlands Yeovil to perform a Relaxed Concert, which is perfect for family audiences. These informal concerts have a repertoire which caters for many tastes and audience members can book a space for a beanbag or blanket instead of a chair if they would prefer (read more about this concert format here).
If you’re a keen amateur musician yourself, why not come along to Dorset Rusties 2022 this July at Lighthouse, Poole. You’ll benefit from specialist coaching during rehearsals, and the experience — which offers a chance to meet like-minded people in a fun and relaxed atmosphere — is led by a professional conductor. This is our biggest ‘Rusties’ event of the year and rehearsals are held across the South West in Wareham (3 July), Bridport ( 17 July) and Dorchester (17 July), culminating with a performance at Lighthouse Poole on 24 July.
We’re out and about in the BCP region in August with Brass Octets performing at free outdoor events as part of Festival Coast Live! ( 3 & 4 Aug). A perfect way to spend a summer’s afternoon, come along and listen to our musicians play relaxed pieces in the vicinity’s beautiful green spaces.
And then it’s on to Meyrick Park for ‘BSO Proms in the Park’, with Classical Extravaganza (Fri 5 Aug) and Queen Symphonic Spectacular (Sat 6 Aug). There’ll be music from John Williams to Borodin and an evening of hits from Queen including such classics as Don’t Stop Me Now, Bohemian Rhapsody and much, much more…
Come along and join us for a summer of live music…we can’t wait to see you!
