• The performance is sponsored by Allianz Musical Insurance, BSO Resound’s Supporting Partner
BSO Resound, the world’s first professional disabled-led ensemble, will perform the world premiere of a new work by Alexander Campkin. Commissioned for the 6-piece ensemble, trembling, hoping, lingering, flying will be performed in full for the first time at Lighthouse, Poole on Thursday 7 November.
In 2018, BSO Resound made history at the BBC Proms; becoming the first disabled-led ensemble to ever perform at the Proms. For this ground-breaking performance, the ensemble performed hoping, the second movement of Alexander Campkin’s new composition which was especially written for BSO Resound.
“I am very excited to have the world premiere of my piece trembling, hoping, lingering, flying in November. This piece is extremely personal to me, as it represents my emotional journey of coming to terms with having MS. Working with BSO Resound showed me that it is okay to say that you have a disability. These musicians inspired me to publicly say who I am and be honest about myself.”
