Over 100 local school pupils – from Poole High School and Longfleet Church of England Primary School — are busy preparing to unite with musicians from the BSO for a special musical celebration at St James’s Church, at the core of Poole’s historic action zone.

The project, led by Soundstorm Music Education Hub, is supported by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra — directed by BSO Associate Musician, Neil Valentine and percussionist Peadar Townsend. It explores the stories of historic Poole, modern day Poole Quay and its inhabitants and promises to take audiences to places they’ve never been before!

BCP Council is delivering a £1.25m Poole High Street Heritage Action Zone project in partnership with Historic England, which will provide opportunities and include essential repairs to heritage buildings and the installation of traditional street lighting.

The Poole Voyages project is part of a wider Cultural Programme to celebrate the High Street and encourage residents and visitors to engage with Poole’s rich heritage. Find out more here.
