The choir’s Christmas recordings are of the popular modern classics Jingle Bell Rock and It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Members of BSO Voices recorded their individual performances before being edited together with accompaniment from the Orchestra. The were specially arranged by Teresa Barlow and Pete Harrison, and edited by Alex Rimell and other members of the BSO Digital Team.

Jingle Bell Rock

Released in 1957 by Bobby Helms, the song came in at No.6 in American magazine Billboard’s Best Sellers in Store charts in January 1958. It also featured on the soundtrack album to the 1996 film Jingle All the Way starring Arnold Schwarzenegger!

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year is a popular Christmas song written in 1963 by Edward Pola and George Wyle. It was recorded and released that year by pop singer Andy Williams for his first Christmas album.

Since March members of BSO Voices have met online and rehearsed from home, keeping the communal spirit of a choir going during this socially distanced year.  During the spring and summer they released recordings of Over the Rainbow and Can You Feel the Love Tonight
