Full of drama and exuberance, we play extracts from Mozart’s Don Giovanni – including the Overture, music full of vitality and virility of the Don himself.

The beauty of wind instruments and the virtuoso of our players are showcased with Octets by Gipps and Beethoven, a charming quintet by Zemlinsky and Debussy’s Syrinx exhibits the beauty of solo flute.

Ibert’s Trois Pièces brèves interweaves flute and clarinet lines to a delicate effect. There a freshness and elegance to the melodies throughout these three short pieces.

Price originally wrote Adoration for an organ church performance, but this arrangement sees the piece in new light performed by our wind players. Price’s unique style is on display, as she weaves African American spiritual melodies with European classical tradition.
