Come and find out how music can help build supportive relationships within communities and between professionals and vulnerable people, and also how participation can benefit mental health, wellbeing and self-esteem, both for service users and professionals.
Through talks, discussions, performances, and experiential learning, you will find out about existing creative projects in the South West, and also help develop thinking on potential new projects in and around Bodmin.

Matt Harrison BSO Associate
Matt was born and raised in Cornwall, and returned to Bodmin in 2012, where he now works closely with organisations such as South West Music School and the Cornwall Music Service Trust. Matt is currently the conductor of Truro Sinfonia, Musical Supervisor of Lesykn Kernow, and Symfoni Kernow. He is very keen on the promotion of Music Education and The Arts in general, and the added benefits that it brings to people’s lives.

Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) is a charity that has provided harm reduction and treatment services for people who are experiencing a negative relationship with drugs and/or alcohol, for 38 years. Creative Communities have been running free weekly singing, music and theatre groups for 10 years, providing a creative and unique way to process people’s relationship with drug use.

Our Wellbeing Orchestras including the Bristol Recovery Orchestra are innovative place-led partnerships with health and social care to co-deliver regular music making that supports people’s wellbeing journeys.
Led by a specialist music leader with musicians from the BSO, programmes are designed around the specific needs of the group, and produced in close partnership with a specialist health and social care partner.
