Audiences will be able to hear the Orchestra in person, with limited seating available at Lighthouse, Poole. Each concert will also be livestreamed and available for 30 days online.
Conductor Stephen Bell directs the BSO in four of the performances. Familiar to audiences as a conductor of BBC Proms in the Park, he is increasingly in demand throughout Europe and has conducted most of the major British orchestras.
BSO Chief Executive, Dougie Scarfe, says, “We’re proud to be one of the few British orchestras to have continued livestreaming symphonic concerts during the past eight months. Being able to once again share our live music-making with a physical audience in the concert hall is something we have been looking forward to — and we can’t wait to see you!”
One of the first UK orchestras to livestream full symphonic performances in 2020, the BSO has continued to broadcast each week. In April, the BSO’s livestreamed concerts were championed at the meeting of G7 ministers, and the Orchestra has reached greater than a sell-out capacity for its music-making.
The BSO’s summer concerts run from Thursday 10 June to Saturday 12 August. For full details and tickets visit bsolive.com.
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s summer concerts are supported by Summer Season Sponsor, Investec.
