Deborah is a family lawyer, mediator and partner of Ellis Jones solicitors in Bournemouth. She relocated to the South Coast from London with her family in 2001, looking for a better quality of life. She has specialised in complex financial disputes arising on divorce and relationship breakdown since she qualified as a lawyer in 1990.

Deborah is particularly interested in the power of the BSO’s music to transfer and improve people’s lives, both in and beyond the concert hall, from cradle to grave. Although not at all musical herself, Deborah really enjoys the restorative impact of a midweek BSO concert, after a hard day’s work at the coal face. She is keen to help debunk the myth that classical music is elitist and to make music widely accessible to all. She is passionate about the valuable work which the BSO does to achieve this.

Deborah has been a Trustee of the BSO since January 2022.
