Dr Jon James has picked some of the musical highlights from our 2019/20 season, guiding us through each work exploring their rhythmic and harmonic nuances as well as showing us what to listen out for in the concert hall.

Here we explore Aaron Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo, a ballet composed by Aaron Copland and choreographed by Agnes de Mille, which premiered in 1942. This piece will be conducted by our Conductor Laureate, Andrew Litton, on 23 Oct in Poole Lighthouse and on 24 Oct in Exeter Great Hall as part of our concert, ‘Great American Songbook’.
