Our outdoor concerts at Meyrick Park present the perfect opportunity to assemble your ultimate summer picnic. Dust off the cooler, grab your favourite treats and a good supply of napkins; it’s time to tuck in with your family and friends in anticipation of the music…
2. The Music
We’re kicking off the festivities this year with an ‘Classical Extravaganza’ on the Friday night, an epic concert featuring some of the best symphonic music of all time. Under the baton of conductor Pete Harrison, the Orchestra will perform music ranging from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet to film music favourites by John Williams before culminating in a stunning pyrotechnic and fireworks display!
Let your hair down with our ‘Disco Symphonic Spectacular’ on Saturday night, when you can expect all the fun of seventies disco music, with symphonic arrangements of music from the Bee Gees, Earth Wind and Fire, Boney M, Sister Sledge, Donna Summer and Kool and the Gang! The Orchestra is joined by a host of top singers including singer Clean Bandit’s Kirsten Joy (pictured below) alongside Nick Shirm,Gavin Conder and Tess Burstone.
