2. Born in 2004 in Blantyre, Scotland, Ethan Loch was diagnosed as completely blind from birth and as a toddler would play the piano for hours, imitating his first inspiration: Rowlf the piano-playing dog from the Muppet Show! Ethan was also inspired by the DVD “Horowitz in Vienna” which he played continuously.
3. In 2016 Ethan was awarded his first major international award at the Premio Asoluto prize at the 15th International ‘Giuseppe Sciacca’ awards at the Vatican, Rome. A year later in 2017 he was awarded the 7th James Waterhouse Loretto Piano Competition “Advanced” class, part of the prize being to perform at the Steinway Hall in London.
4. Ethan began formally playing the piano with lessons with his mother at the age of 4. He has been composing since early childhood and loves to tell imaginative stories through his compositions. Today he studies with Fali Pavri at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
