Singing in a choir is a brilliant way to meet new people and it has been proven to instil a sense of happiness and increase wellbeing.

The choir performs several times a year under the direction of conductor, Pete Harrison with the full Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. There are no auditions to join and the ability to read music is not essential.

Choir members enjoy being part of the BSO family, sharing experiences in rehearsal and on the concert platform, with social events alongside plenty of tea, biscuits and fun, as well as benefitting from ticket discounts for all BSO promoted concerts.

  • Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7.15-9.30pm beginning 17 September at Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, Hill Lane, Southampton, SO15 5RL.
  • Please ensure that you can attend the rehearsals (you may miss up to 3 rehearsals by prior agreement) and that you are able to perform in the concert.
  • Music and audio teaching tracks are available for download from the BSO Voices Resources page. Resources will be available in mid January.

For our Spring term, the choir will be working on a selection of chorues from Handel’s Messiah as well as his uplifiting Coronation anthem Zadok the Priest, with the finale Baroque Majesty concert taking place on  Saturday 25 April at the Southampton O2 Guildhall with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
