Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of unforgettable classics in support of the BSO Benevolent Fund. Featuring a performance of Verdi’s Force of Destiny Overture and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, the BSO will be also be joined by internationally-renowned soloist Tasmin Little for a performance of Bruch’s powerful Violin Concerto No.1.
These three pieces will call on the full force of our orchestra to immerse the audience in the world of one of Verdi’s greatest operas, accompany Bruch’s iconic Violin Concerto and conclude the evening with the controlled power of Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony. A trio of classical works contrasting in style but equal in quality, this evening provides a varied collection of pieces from across the classical repertoire.
This concert raises funds for the Benevolent Fund, which exists to provide financial assistance to members of the BSO who have developed a medical condition or an injury that impairs their ability to perform their duties, or threatens to prematurely end their playing careers.
