BSO: After Dark is a new collaboration between Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and the Turner Sims’ Assistant Producers. This musical experience is themed around journeys, both journeys within the self and journeys beyond our planet.

The concert features film soundtracks and pieces that transport the listener, including works by Hans ZimmerMax Richter, and Arvo Pärt. Special guest artist Baby Panna performs original spoken word alongside music such as ‘Bundle of Joy’ from film ‘Inside Out‘, ‘Venus, The Bringer of Peace’ from Holst’s ‘Planets’, and ‘A Change is Gonna Come’ by Sam Cooke.

This immersive concert with atmospheric lighting reimagines what classical music can be, exploring how music and words can be used together to create a tapestry of human experience and wonder.

Don’t miss The Vibe Lounge at 6.30pm in the Turner Sims Foyer with DJ Jack Pudding. Join us for free live music!

The Assistant Producers are young creatives aged 18-25, based in Southampton. They are part of Turner Sims’ year-round programme to support young people into careers in the music industry. For this concert event they have been working closely with the team at Turner Sims and BSO to develop the concept, make programming choices and bring in a guest artist.
