Entrants just need to film their recording – of up to three minutes – of an instrumental piece inspired by birdsong. It could be your version of a well-known song (think Blackbird or The Lark Ascending) or even your own composition; it just needs to be inspired by birds or birdsong in some capacity!

Entries need to be submitted by Wednesday 25 June (23:59) and the winners of each age category (18-24 years, 25-39 years, and 40+ years) will win £1,000 courtesy of Lark Music Insurance and a 2025/26 subscription to our Digital Concerts (worth £170)!

The panel of expert judges features musicians, broadcasters, and producers from across the industry, including presenter Tom Service, violinist Tania Davis, and conductor Enyi Okpara. Winners will be announced in mid-July.
