We support early career musicians to hone their playing and creative skills alongside exceptional professionals, and create bespoke projects with music hubs and regional partners to support young people’s music-making in and out of school. Removing barriers and improving pathways into music is central to our inclusive talent development and inspiring young people’s creative and musical journeys.
This includes:
- National Open Youth Orchestra (NOYO) – Bournemouth NOYO regional ensemble for disabled and non-disabled musicians aged 11-25
- Young Associates music leader training – for emerging community music leaders aged 18+
- Our partnerships with Trinity Laban Conservatoire and universities
- Creative music projects, side by side experiences, coaching, workshops & performance experiences
I think this has taught me that community music can reach anyone, like any kind of community … people with whatever kind of past or, anywhere in society, music can be brought to any place and it can be used in any way
