The BSO are pleased to offer work experience for young people who are in year 10 – 13, to gain valuable experience behind the scenes of a professional orchestra and arts charity.
This placement will provide invaluable experience in arts management and administration and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to have a career in the arts, whether as a performer, teacher, or administrator.
This work experience opportunity will take place between Monday 18th May and Friday 22rd May 2026.
Although an interest in music is desirable, we welcome applications from young people with an interest in any creative medium, including performing arts, dance, visual arts and craft, filmmaking, photography and digital media.
Applications are not live yet. However, if you are interested, you can fill out the form below to join the waitlist:
By joining our waitlist, it means you will be contacted when our online application form goes live, which will be in February. There will be an interview process, and only a number of applicants will be selected for the work experience.
I found that it has heavily broadened my knowledge of how a large organisation/charity works. Everybody at the BSO was so friendly and welcoming, and I do hope to return one day in whatever form that may be.
