The holiday season is once again just around the corner, and the BSO is back with a selection of live concerts which celebrate the very best of Christmas music for the festive period.

The Last Night of the Christmas Proms this year welcomes back James Spilling to sing a selection of treats by the masters of the musical – Rodgers & Hammerstein. The evening is all wrapped up with the usual fun-filled festive fayre featuring Christmas hits galore from Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire and Let It Snow to Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday!

Other choral offerings include Handel’s Messiah with the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus in Poole and the Christmas outing of BSO Voices for a spirited celebration of the voice that heralds the season, Roll On Christmas!, and you can join in with the singing yourself in our ever-popular Celebration of Christmas Carols – a final heart-warming way to prepare for the big day itself!

And to herald the New Year, our stylish New Year Viennese Gala this year takes a trip from Vienna to Kyiv. Conducted by our Chief Conductor, Kirill Karabits, he will be adding a little bit of Ukrainian flavour with music by Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov alongside favourites by Johann Strauss II, and is joined by the amazing Ukrainian folk singer, Ruslana Lotsman, to perform a selection of traditional songs that have been specially arranged for orchestra for the occasion.

See below for full details of all our seasonal concerts in Poole, Portsmouth, Exeter, Southampton, Taunton and Weymouth.
