Swedish-born Jesper Svedberg has been Principal Cello of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra since 2010.
Jesper studied in Stockholm and at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating with a Masters in Chamber Music, and was later appointed a Professor at the University of Gothenburg.

As a soloist, Jesper has performed with orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony, Swedish Radio Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Dala Sinfonietta and Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.

Jesper is also a founding member of the Kungsbacka Piano Trio, which took first prize in the 1999 Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and was selected for the 2000 BBC New Generation Artists Scheme.
