Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications from highly qualified candidates for the position of Principal Horn.
This is a full-time, contract position.
Based in Poole, Dorset, the BSO perform extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and deliver an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.
The Orchestra’s Principal Conductor is Kirill Karabits; Leader Amyn Merchant.
Auditions will be held at the BSO’s home base, Poole Lighthouse in late June / early July. Check back here for the audition dates, which are currently being finalised.
Audition repertoire:
- Strauss Horn Concerto 1 or 2 – first movement
- Mozart Horn Concerto 2 or 4 – first movement
- Excerpts will be sent to candidates who are invited to audition
- Sight-reading may be given
