Based in Poole, Dorset, BSO performs extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and also delivers an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.

The Orchestra’s Chief Conductor is Mark Wigglesworth; Leader Amyn Merchant.

Single round unaccompanied auditions will be held in Bournemouth on the following dates:

  • Friday 19th September
  • Friday 26th September

Audition requirements are as follows:

  • Any Bass Concerto 1st movement (no cadenza) and a contrasting piece.
  • Excerpts: these will be sent to musicians invited to audition
  • Sight-reading will be given
