In 2024-25, Trusts have supported a wide range of work such as the following:

  • The BSO’s Calleva Assistant Conductor programme – creating a career springboard for an extraordinary young artist
  • Exciting programmes led by our artistic team, bringing new artists and repertoire to the stage
  • Workshops, assemblies and Schools’ Concerts for pupils aged 5-11 – ensuring that young learners across the South West have access to interactive, high-quality music education and the thrill of a live concert
  • The BSO’s programme of work with talented young disabled and non-disabled musicians through the National Open Youth Orchestra and at Special Educational Need and Disability Schools
  • Our pioneering ‘Symphony from Scratch’ amateur orchestra, co-designed with young disabled musicians to be welcoming and inclusive for all abilities
  • Major residencies in Cornwall and Boscombe
  • Creative-health initiatives, including music-making on the wards of Dorset County Hospital and the launch of a new Wellbeing Orchestra in Bodmin
