We’re proud to be situated in the beautiful South West of England. Based at Lighthouse, Poole, we’re resident in Bristol, Exeter, Portsmouth, Southampton, and Yeovil, and perform in towns and villages throughout the region. As a touring organisation, we want our performances to leave lasting musical memories, but only a gentle footprint on the Earth.

We are custodians of a world-class orchestral culture in the South West – and, as individuals in our lives away from the stage, for the natural landscape that we enjoy. We want future generations to have access to both.

This autumn, as part of an ongoing commitment to clearing up our coastline, BSO staff have volunteered support for the Marine Conservation Society’s (MCS) Great British Beach Clean. We have collected litter along 100-metre stretches of our local beaches and reported our findings. The information gathered helps MCS in campaigning for positive change for the ocean.
