Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above position.

This is a full-time, contract position. Annual salary: £32,684

Based in Poole, Dorset, BSO performs extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and delivers an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.

The Orchestra’s Principal Conductor is Kirill Karabits; Leader Amyn Merchant.

Single round unaccompanied auditions will be held in Bournemouth on the following dates:

  • Thursday 22 September
  • Monday 26 September

 

Audition requirements:

  • a movement (including cadenza, if appropriate) from a major viola concerto (i.e.: Bartok, Walton or Hindemith), but not Telemann
  • a movement from Stamitz or Hoffmeister
  • orchestral excerpts will be sent to those musicians invited to audition
  • sight-reading may be given
