Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications for the position of Principal Tuba, a seat held previously by Andy Cresci, for 36 years.

This is a full-time, contract position.

Based in Poole, Dorset, the BSO perform extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and deliver an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.

The Orchestra’s Principal Conductor is Kirill Karabits; Leader Amyn Merchant.

Auditions will be held at the BSO’s home base, Poole Lighthouse on:

• Tuesday 23 May
• Tuesday 13 June

Audition repertoire:

• Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto (1^st movement, with cadenza)
• Excerpts will be sent to candidates who are invited to audition
• Sight-reading may be given
