Designed for KS2 students, these thrilling and interactive concerts will be presented by award-winning composer, James Redwood. Explore the Orchestra: Four Elements will feature music that seeks to uncover the mysteries of the four elements that make up our natural world and inspires scientific discovery.

So, prepare to open your mind as we go on a journey to explore music ranging from the traditional and familiar, to the contemporary and unknown.

This concert will feature a participatory song and body percussion piece for everyone to perform, composed for this concert with schools in Bristol. Through these pieces, the audience will learn to sing and perform with the orchestra and be introduced to all the instruments that make up a symphony orchestra.

The concert running time is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

Pre-Concert Online CPD Session

James will be leading a FREE CPD online session for teachers that will go over the participatory material that will be featured in the concert, as well as giving ideas for other ways you can prepare your children. The online CPD will be held on Tuesday 29th April , 3:45 – 4:30pm. Zoom links will be emailed a day before the session.

This will be a valuable opportunity for you to enhance the livestream experience, by your students, from wherever they are watching, joining in with the participatory elements during the concert. It would be fantastic to see you there.

I think seeing the instruments live, hearing their ranges and listening to a range of music, really inspired the children. One even came away saying he'd like to play violin in an orchestra when he is older
