Join us on a musical journey through the natural world, in a programme especially for families presented by BSO Young Music leaders.

Imagine you are lying on a forest floor. The moon is shining brightly and there is a distant roar of the ocean. Listen closely and what might you hear? Perhaps a bird sings – was it a cuckoo or a nightingale? Maybe an owl swoops by you, wings outstretched, and was that a baby elephant dashing through the trees?

Expect a programme including pieces from Rimsky Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee to Villa-Lobos’ Floresta do Amazonas and Bjork’s Crystalline amongst many others.

Pre-concert family workshop – free of charge and open to concert ticket holders. 1.30pm

Get ready to delve into the exciting world of how music can magically bring to life the extraordinary sounds of your favourite animals!

We welcome families of all ages to join our three Young Music Leaders for a fun music making session, exploring the sound world of Curious Creatures and Adventurous Animals.  Bring instruments along if you have any, or you can choose from those that we’ll have available.

Open to family groups with children of all ages.
