We at the BSO have been working hard to deliver an engaging programme of work over the past year, both online and in-person where possible, but we haven’t been in a position to really get going with our community events. That is until now.

Chamber Rusty Musicians Day

We are conscious many of you will be desperate to get back playing again, especially alongside our musicians, and we cannot wait either. We will be taking a safe and steady approach to returning to in-person events, and the first Rusty Musicians project this year will be run slightly differently to normal in order to balance numbers of participants, and to help those who perhaps haven’t played their instrument or rehearsed in a group for some time.

We will be running a day containing two separate 90-minute sessions, which will take place as a tutti orchestra rather than the usual sectionals. However, our wonderful musicians and conductor will be there to help, assist and support everyone through each session.

Registrations open at 7pm on Wednesday 16th June

Details:

Sunday 4 July
Mozart  Symphony No.40
Parkstone Grammar School, Poole. BH17 7EP

Session 1: 11am-12.30pm
Session 2: 1.30-3pm

Cost: £15 per person

Due to social distancing, we are only able to accommodate reduced forces of instruments, places will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis and you will only be able to attend one session. This is to enable as many people as possible a chance to attend what is certain to be a popular, wholesome and emotional day.

Instruments included will be:
Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Bassoons, French Horns, Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Bass.

Covid-19 Event Safety:

The BSO is constructively working on building confidence for people to return to performing together, and thus a requirement to attend this project will be for you to undertake a lateral flow test and accept a code of conduct. Your participation on the day is reliant on you returning a negative result from this test, the result of which will need to be reported. If you return a positive result, you will unfortunately not be able to take part, but we will, of course, fully refund your registration fee.
More details on testing and the code of conduct will be included in your confirmation email.

Mozart Symphony No.40
It’s helped me develop a whole new way of playing my instrument and it’s given me the confidence to start playing in local bands and orchestras.
