Singing in a choir is a brilliant way to meet new people and it has been proven to instil a sense of happiness and increase wellbeing. BSO Voices usually performs at least three times a year under the direction of conductor, Pete Harrison with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. There are no auditions to join and the ability to read music is not essential.
This term we are not able to rehearse or perform as we would normally due to social distancing measures put in place by the government. Instead we are planning a special “virtual” term, working on a single song – Can You Feel The Love Tonight from the Disney film The Lion King. Learning resources will be made available online as usual and there will be opportunities along the way to pick up tips and advice from Pete Harrison as well as live inset sessions via Zoom. Up-to-date information and news will be posted on the private BSO Voices members page on Facebook so do sign up to that if you are not already – you will need to request permission to join so that we know we are secure. Please also note that learning CDs will not be produced but all scores and learning tracks are available to listen to or download on the BSO Voices Resources page.
At the end of the term in early July, members will be encouraged to submit a video of themselves singing which will be edited together to produce a final “virtual” performance video of everyone singing together.
The fee for the term is £20 to cover the costs of preparing the scores and learning tracks and also a small fee for both Pete and Teresa for their work needed to make this happen. Application is only available online by clicking the Book now link on the right. You will then be sent the password to get access to the online resources.
