An ensemble of musicians from across the BSO invite you to join them on a musical journey through the natural world, led by some very adventurous and curious creatures in a programme especially for families.

Imagine you are lying on a forest floor. What might you hear? Perhaps a bird sings – was it a cuckoo or a nightingale? Maybe an owl swoops by, wings outstretched, on her way to a magical place with a secret message. Further in the distance a hunting party gallops by, a walrus yawns, a trout jumps, and a mysterious troll grumpily makes its way back into the mountains…

Expect a programme including pieces such as Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, Villa-Lobos Floresta do Amazonas and Mancini’s Baby Elephant Walk, to name but a few, all introduced by a BSO presenter.
