Arts Council England’s Change Makers campaign offered a catalyst to improve progression paths, create visible role models and professional opportunities within the sector. With a strong record in spearheading change, we were the only disabled-led music programme to receive funding through the scheme.

From the start, the aim was to begin a process of transformation reaching far beyond audience development; we aspired to change the nature of the orchestral workforce, create exceptional music, and embrace the creativity and inspiration that comes through working with the most diverse range of people.

Putting inclusion at the heart of the orchestra has been transformative. It has changed the way we look at our Company, our Art, our Audience and our role in the world.
