Singing in a choir is a brilliant way to meet new people and it has been proven to instil a sense of happiness and increase wellbeing.

The choir performs several times a year under the direction of conductor, Pete Harrison with the full Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. There are no auditions to join and the ability to read music is not essential.

Choir members enjoy being part of the BSO family, sharing experiences in rehearsal and on the concert platform, with social events alongside plenty of tea, biscuits and fun, as well as benefitting from ticket discounts for all BSO promoted concerts.

  • Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7.15-9.30pm beginning 18 September 2024 at Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, Hill Lane, Southampton, SO15 5RL.
  • Please ensure that you can attend the rehearsals (you may miss up to 3 rehearsals by prior agreement) and that you are able to perform in the concert.
  • Music and audio teaching tracks are available for download from the BSO Voices Resources page.

For our Autumn 2024 term, the choir is part of the BSO’s seasonal celebrations in Poole with performances of Christmas favourites, including The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Jingle Bell Rock, Shepherd’s Pipe Carol and The Polar Express, alongside a live screening of the classic animated film, The Snowman.
