If you’re a young disabled musician aged 11+ and have been playing your electronic or traditional instrument for a while, come and spend a fun and relaxed weekend as part of an orchestra – we can adapt parts for different levels and instruments.
Or if you are Grade 5 ability or above, come and be part of this extraordinary symphonic sound, in a weekend of sharing experiences and learning from each other, whilst breaking down barriers to music.
Sign up now and be part of the future of inclusive symphonic music with the BSO!
11 – 16 years to be accompanied by a guardian. Free for all under 25s and concessions.
Deadline to apply: 09:00 am Friday 11th October 2024 for amateur musicians.
Here’s the detail……
With people playing orchestral instruments alongside new and adaptive instruments, parts will be created for different instruments and levels of playing. Clarion, LinnStrument and other non-traditional orchestral instruments welcome!
As part of the project, we’ll provide…
- Adapted parts for different levels and formats.
- Parts created for non-orchestral instruments.
- Online learning materials to help you practice and prepare for the rehearsal.
- Musical support throughout the ensemble.
If you play an instrument that isn’t in the booking list please get in touch with Evie at eallsopp@bsorchestra.co.uk to request a part. We welcome all instruments!
If you need the score in a different format, e.g. large format, XML for Braille transcription, particular patterns for Clarion etc please specify. Be as detailed as you can.
FOR NOYO Participants
After applying you will receive a phone call from Jess Craig (07860 268847) to ensure this is a good fit for you. We have a certain amount of resource to get new parts done so want to ensure this experience is best suited to you. For any NOYO/Access queries please contact Jess on jcraig@bsorchestra.co.uk.
You will be notified if you have secured a place by Monday 23 September. If successful, you will receive your part and learning resources by Monday 21st October. Please come to the weekend well prepared and contact us if you would like more advice or help learning.
