BSO Chief Conductor Mark Wigglesworth conducts highlights including symphonies by Elgar, Shostakovich and Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony as well as a selection of works by Dani Howard, including a UK premiere of her Saxophone Concerto with Jess Gillam. We are thrilled to welcome British baritone Roderick Williams as this season’s Artist-in-Residence. One of the finest artists of his generation, he will join us in three programmes including a special recital of English songs inspired by Schubert’s Winterreise song cycle.
Principal Guest Conductor Chloé Van Soeterstède joins us for Saint-Saëns’ unforgettable Organ Symphony and we look forward to return visits from many other familiar faces including Kirill Karabits, Sunwook Kim, Ning Feng, Boris Giltburg, Stven Osborne, Elisabeth Brauß and Sir Stephen Hough.
