The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is looking to appoint a Senior Philanthropy Officer to join its successful Development team.The Senior Philanthropy Officer (SPO) will support the Development Manager to deliver the BSO’s well-established individual giving programme. By developing and nurturing relationships with donors giving £1,000-£2,499 per year, the SPO will to raise and grow philanthropic income for the BSO.

Our groundbreaking work during the pandemic brought the Orchestra, our audiences, and supporters even closer together at an incredibly challenging time. We have continued to nurture and strengthen these relationships, and with a range of exciting initiatives on the horizon – including the appointment of a new Chief Conductor – there is a real opportunity to develop the BSO’s philanthropic community further.
To thrive in this role, the SPO will have:
- Experience of fundraising or equivalent relationship development.
- An understanding of donor motivations and a commitment to excellent supporter care.
- Experience in events management.
