Social isolation for those in care later in life brings a loss of freedom and fewer cultural experiences. The BSO rises to this challenge through its programme of visits to care & residential homes across its remit.

Through rekindling musical memories and encouraging participation, to listening entertainment and stirring emotion, our visits to care & residential homes reach audiences who otherwise wouldn’t be able to engage with the BSO.

These visits can create new audiences, and reconnect with former ones, and help to provide moments of joy, enrichment and fulfilment for those heading towards their twilight years.

If you would like to find out more about the bespoke visits we can offer to your care or residential home, you can download our Music, Health & Wellbeing booklet here

A gentleman who finds it hard to communicate, but during the entertainment I noticed he was smiling and tapping his hands - wonderful.
