At 19 October
Due to the continuing quarantine restrictions on travel into the UK, we are disappointed to announce that Kirill Karabits (4 Nov) will be unable to conduct the Orchestra at Lighthouse, Poole. Kirill’s programme — of Ravel, Couperin, and Richard Strauss — will be recorded for broadcast later in the season.

Ryan Wigglesworth conducts a revised programme on Wednesday 4 November:

Mendelssohn     Overture Die schöne Melusine
Mozart                 Symphony No.34 in C major, K.338
Brahms                Symphony No.3 in F major, Op.90

It is expected Kirill will still conduct the 11 November concert, which includes the anticipated UK premiere of Lindberg’s Absence and Beethoven’s complete Creatures of Prometheus.

The series of 12 live-streamed symphonic performances runs weekly from 30 September to 16 December at Lighthouse, Poole to a small socially-distanced audience and online to the Orchestra’s thousands of followers in the South West and beyond. Each is available for 30 days after the live stage performance. Highlights include the UK premiere of a new work by Magnus Lindberg, and solo performances by Anna Devin, Benjamin Grosvenor, Stephen Hough, and Alina Ibragimova.
