“Rusties” benefit from specialist coaching from musicians from BSO, professional instruction from one of our conductors, and the chance to meet and play alongside like-minded people in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
Musicians will work through in sectionals in the morning, before an afternoon rehearsal and informal sharing to friends and family at the end of the day.

The project is aimed at young fledgling talent, keen amateur players and those looking for a reason to get instruments our of their cases. Parts are available in advance on request, but preparation is not essential.
Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the Rusty and Not So Rusty Musicians events, but please note under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
My highlight was the joy and satisfaction from making music together with others and having my skills stretched to the hilt by the very generous professional players. I left with renewed motivation to practise more and my confidence improved by the bucket load.
