Rachmaninov's Symphony No.2.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? What are your hobbies?
I own a horse - He's an ex race-horse who is a bit of a handful but I love him to bits. He takes up all my free time!
 
What do you like most about living on the South Coast?
The weather - I was up in Liverpool before moving here and it was a lot wetter there.

Can you describe a typical concert day?
Hmmmm.....Get up, go to see my horse, feed him, exercise him after he's digested his breakfast! Race home, jump in the shower, roll up at work for an afternoon's rehearsal (and rest!).  Run home, make dinner, run back to Lighthouse, change to black clothes.....concert......pub....home, sleep!

What would you do if you weren’t a musician?
Something to do with horses.....

Are you from a musical family?
No, my parents are both tone deaf!
 
The orchestra regularly travels lot on the coach. Do musicians tend socialize together according to their instrument?
I spend most of my time with other string players, so I guess so, yes!

What’s your favourite place to eat for a pre-concert meal?
Pizza Express is the most common pre-concert meal especially if they've got meal deals on!
