BSO Discography
The name of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is known across the world with a discography of over 350 recordings. The BSO continues to be the most frequently recorded symphony orchestra in the UK thanks to ongoing relationships with Naxos, Warner Classics, Decca Classics, Dutton Epoch and Onyx.
Following a long tradition of artistic excellence that has seen the BSO awarded GRAMMY and Gramophone awards, our CDs continue to receive critical acclaim in the specialist and national press. Recent CD releases are available on sale (or can be ordered) at the BSO table in the foyer of most concerts in Poole, Portsmouth, Bristol and Exeter. Please note that many of these recordings now only exist in archives. Some 100 gramophone discs of recordings by the Bournemouth Municipal Orchestra between 1927 and 1949 form part of the Bournemouth Orchestra's collection of archive recordings held at the Wessex Film & Sound Archive, Hampshire Record Office, Sussex Street, Winchester SO23 8TH (01962 847742). This is a public archive; visitors welcome 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
