The BSO Membership Scheme

Belonging, Supporting, Opportunities!

Our members are part of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra family. Nearly two thousand people across the region (and beyond) have joined the scheme, for many different reasons. From those that have followed the BSO all their lives to those who are just beginning to explore the world of classical music; our members all have a desire to see ‘their’ Orchestra  continue to succeed in every musical sphere.

Being a member means you become part of the BSO’s history. Your donation supports the Orchestra in everything it does, but perhaps most importantly in its work outside the concert hall – in schools and communities, among young people and old, in encouraging new musicians and music lovers from all walks of life. Membership helps the Orchestra inspire the audiences of the future.

In return, we make you a priority. We know you love the music, and so we give you more. More access, more information, more opportunities and an increased understanding of how the huge operation that is the BSO works.

All our members receive priority when booking series tickets in Poole, Portsmouth and Exeter as well as invitations to rehearsal afternoons across the season with talks with guest speakers from the world of music. They receive the BSO’s regular Quarternote Magazine, and the opportunity to join musical trips. Our membership e-list is also sent information on what is going on beyond the concert hall.  Basic membership is £60 per annum which covers two people.

Members can then choose to access more through joining at different levels.

Bronze - £100 per annum: Ideal for those who enjoy finding out more about the music with additional events and discounts on BSO recordings.

Silver - £200 per annum: Benefits include free  programmes at BSO promoted performances for the season and an invitation to a special Silver event.

Gold - £350 per annum: Privileges at Gold concerts throughout the season including an exclusive area to relax plus events that give you the opportunity to socialise on a more personal level with the cream of the music world.

Chair - £550 per annum / Principal Chair - £1,000 per annum: Our highest circle of members are those who support a specific instrument in the Orchestra, with their name listed and opportunities to meet ‘their’ musician at our bi-annual Chair Receptions.
