Beyond the concert hall

BSO Resonate is the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's award-winning Education and Community team. Reaching communities throughout the South and South West of England, Resonate organises activities for people of all ages and abilities including participatory workshops, large-scale projects, tea dances, multi-disciplinary performances and schools concerts. Participants can get involved with all aspects of the BSO's music-making, as well as learn about music of all genres. Musicians from the Orchestra regularly work with youth orchestras, the elderly, school pupils, students, special needs groups and amateur enthusiasts, helping to share their expertise with thousands of people each year.

Andy Baker, the BSO Nationwide Community Musician, and his colleagues in the BSO can be found working beyond the concert hall on a regular basis - in community centres, village halls, hospitals, schools, day centres and youth clubs.

To explore some of the projects Resonate have recently been involved with, click on the links on the right hand side of the page or read our interactive digital magazine and see examples of work come to life through video, audio and photographs.
