Passion and emotion is at the fore in this concert with four works that simply ooze with some of the best music ever written. Beethoven is in full heroic mode with his explosive overture and Tchaikovsky pulls out all the stops in his heartrending melodies which graphically portray one of the most passionate love-stories in ballet. Love is also predominant in De Falla’s comic tale of wooing and rejection and finally who cannot be moved by the sheer emotional journey that is Elgar’s immortal Cello Concerto, performed by one of the UKs brightest young artists.
