      Mozart Magic

The sheer genius of Mozart is explored in this concert which focuses on four seminal works written during a period of massive creative output. Portents of doom open proceedings as the arrogant, licentious and bullying Don Giovanni awaits his fiery fate, and the drama continues with four dances from Idomeneo, the tale of a Trojan princess in the court of the King of Crete. The Elvira Madigan Piano Concerto has drama of its own, its slow movement a sublime example of melodic perfection, and in his Symphony No.29 Mozart reached new heights in symphonic form, full of emotional depth and restless energy.
